Drinking smoothies not only is delicious but also VERY nutritious! However, how many times have we been hoaxed into thinking we are drinking or eating something "healthy" when really it is loaded with added sugars, sweeteners, and random ingredients we have no idea were even existent. When we know what we put in our body, we are more in tune with ourselves and what our body needs and wants.
I implement a green smoothie about 4-6 times a week, kickstarting my weekdays and one weekend day (just because I also love breakfast waffles, pancakes, and all that good stuff once in a while).
Why is it important for me to drink green smoothies?
1. Immune System Boost
2. Increased Energy
3. Regulates Digestive System
4. Regulates my Weight
5. Healthy Skin!
What goes into my Green Smoothies?
1. Liquid (usually almond milk or water/ coconut water)
When do I drink them?
After my glass of water in the morning!
With so many recipes you can mix and match, below is my all-time go-to smoothie that is easiest for me! But not to worry, I will post more recipes in more blogs :).
In this blended order from bottom to top:
2 handfuls of Kale
2 handfuls of Spinach
1 cup of Coconut Milk
2 tbsp Organic Low-Fat Vanilla Yogurt (can substitute with vegan yogurt)
2 handfuls of blueberries
1 tablespoon Chia Seeds
- Add in: Collagen powder
Now that you have tried a Green Smoothie, try implementing it more frequently and consistently.
